Hello adventures and welcome back to another post. I absolutely love chocolate covered strawberries so I wanted to combine those two flavors into a really fun cake for Valentine’s day. I also had some heart shaped cake pans that I have never used that I really wanted to try. So mix those two ideas together to form the perfect Valentine’s day cake. Since it has been snowing on and off for the past week, I was not able to get to the store and get everything I needed so I just used what I had on hand. I used a cake mix for my chocolate cakes that I doctored up a little bit. I didn’t use a recipe for the frosting or the strawberry whipped cream filling I just made it up as I went along. The cake pans I used were very thin so when I finished baking the cakes I had seven individual cakes. So instead of making one massive seven layer cake, I made two, two layer cakes and one three layer cake. I gave one of the two layer cakes to my Mema and Pa, and the other to my Aunt, Uncle and three cousins. I saved the last cake for my family and I. I topped the cakes with homemade chocolate covered strawberries. With the three layered cake, I made some cake balls with the tops of the cakes I had previously leveled off and some leftover frosting. That’s pretty much all I did for my Valentine’s Day chocolate covered strawberry heart cakes. A special thank you to my Dad and little sister for delivering the cakes to my family members yesterday. Here are the pictures of my cakes.
