The Best Chocolate Pecan Pie

Hello adventures, welcome back to another post. Todays post will be all about my favorite holiday dessert, chocolate pecan pie. If you are like me and don’t like pumpkin pie or pumpkin desserts this is the perfect dessert for you. Unlike traditional pecan pie, this pie is richer in flavor and a little more complex. Now on to the recipe.

Ingredients:

Directions:

First pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees. Then roll out your pie crust on a floured surface about 2 inches bigger than the pan you are using. Then place the pie crust in a greased 9 inch pie pan. Next take a fork and poke some holes in the crust to prevent it from bubbling up. Brush the crust with an egg wash made with 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of water and a pinch of salt.

Next mix the chocolate chips and pecans together and put it in the unbaked pie crust.

I mixed them in a bowl first then put them into the pie shell.

Next whisk the remaining ingredients together. Pour the filling over the pecans and chocolate chips. Then crimp the edges of the pie (trim the edges if necessary). Brush the edges with the left over egg wash. Bake for about 1 hour or until the filling sets.

A trick to prevent your corn syrup from sticking to the measuring cup, is spraying it with cooking spray. Trust me it works wonders.

Cool for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve with whipped topping or whatever you wish.

Thank you for reading this blog post! I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Comment down below if you prefer pumpkin pie or pecan pie. Until the next adventure,

Love, Payton

  1. Payton,
Looks delicious! I like both pumpkin and chocolate pecan pie, but I’d say chocolate pecan pie is probably my favorite of those two. Great job on your post. So informative and illustrative with all the pictures.
