Welcome back adventures, todays post is all about my favorite Christmas candy Christmas Crack. With its layers of salty saltine crackers, homemade caramel, and chocolate, its the perfect candy. This is probably the most addictive candy I have ever made, and its definitely a family favorite. I like to use red and green M&Ms to top it, but you can use nuts, sprinkles or anything you wish. Now on to the recipe.
- Cooking Spray
- 35 to 40 Saltine Crackers
- 2 Sticks (1 cup) Butter
- 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
- 8 ounces Semisweet Chocolate Chips (about 1 1/3 cups)
- Any type of topping you want (I used red and green M&Ms)
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Take one large or two small jelly-roll pans with aluminum foil, sprayed with cooking spray, arrange the saltines salt-side down in a single layer.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together and boil until it turns a caramel color, this takes a few minutes. Then remove from the heat and pour the caramel over the crackers, covering them evenly.
Put the jelly-roll pan into the oven and bake for 3 to 5 minutes, or just until bubbly, watching carefully. Remove from the oven and pour the chocolate chips over the crackers. When the chips melt a bit, spread them over the crackers with a spatula. Chop up some M&Ms and sprinkled them on top. But you can top it with anything you want.
Transfer the pan to the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes or until completely cold. They will form one big sheet. Then break up into pieces I used a large knife to cut it into pieces. Then store in an airtight container, and enjoy.
Comment down below your favorite Christmas candy and have a Merry Christmas. Until the next adventure,
